Archery Interchange Field Archers NFAS club!

Hi all,
Well after all the talk of the last few weeks we have gone and done it. AIFA is now an NFAS registered field archery club.
If you want to join just post a message her and we will add you to our list, to be recognised as an AIFA archer by NFAS either put AIFA down on your NFAS application form if you are new to NFAS or drop the NFAS membership sec an email saying you want AIFA to be your club if you are already a member.
The current committee is Clickerati as chairman, bkurpis as treasurer and me, dtalbot as secretary. As you'll seefrom the constitution (below) all the committee posts will be open to election once we have 15 members.
Cheers
David

AIFA CONSTITUTION AND RULES

PREAMBLE

The AIFA exists to foster and promote Field Archery as a sport in which
archers enjoy themselves by shooting at inanimate objects of suitable
sizes, placed at distances unknown to the archers, set in natural
undulating terrain populated by trees and shrubbery with few or no
clear-laned targets.

The AIFA believe that field archery was originally devised to provide
as much pleasure as possible in the practise of the sport, any courses
we construct will keep this in mind.

The AIFA believes that in the true spirit of field Archery, the archer
is competing against himself, the field, the peculiarities of the
terrain, the organisers design and layout of the round with the natural
objects and obstacles that have been included.

The AIFA is a club for online friends and aquintances who frequent the
Archery-Interchange web forum and wish to be recognised as such when
competing in field archery under the auspisous of the National Field
Archers Society.

1. The Society shall be called AIUK Field Archers AIFA (Archery
Interchange Field Archers)

2. The Objects of the society shall be as set forth in the preamble.

3. Membership is open to all archers willing to abide by the
Constitution and Rules of the Society and who wish to join via the
Archery-Interchange forum (AIUK) (http://www.archery-interchange.com).

The Executive reserve the right to suspend, withdraw or refuse
membership to any person or persons who act in a manner to the
detriment or well being of the Society. The reasons for any such action
will only be disclosed to the person or persons involved.

4. The Business of the Society shall be conducted in accord with the
wishes of the members as expressed at the Annual General Meeting which
may be held virtually.

5. A General Meeting shall be held annually and may be held virtually.
The agenda shall include

(a) Minutes of previous Annual General Meeting,

(b) Officers Reports

(c) Election of Officers

(d) Any resolutions duly submitted.

6. The Executive Officers of the Club shall be Chair, Secretary and
Teasurer to be appointed on formation of the club. Should candidates
arise, elections for all the executive posts will be held once
membership reaches 15. If no candidate is forthcoming within 1 month of the trigger date the officers will serve a 3 year term from that date. Elections will be by email ballot, to serve for a period of 3 years when they shall stand
down but be eligible for re-election for a maximum of 3 terms.

7. Candidates for executive office should be nominated by 3 members of
the club.

8. Once elected officials are in place 50% +1 of the Club Membership
may call an online EGM to seek to replace any or all elected officials.
Or to amend or make addition to the constitution/rules of the Club.

9. The Executive Officers shall meet online from time to time as
necessary for the satisfactory conduct of the society's business. The
day to day business shall be carried out by these officers.

10. The club may be wound up on the vote of 75% of the membership at an
AGM or EGM called by 50% + 1 of the membership. Any assets at winding
up willl be donated to the upkeep of the Archery Interchange website.
In the event this is not possible the donation will be to a charity
selected by vote at the winding up meeting.

I'd like to thank David for all of his hard work putting this club together. He did all the groundwork and should be commended!

I'd also like to that Brian for taking on the role of treasurer at the last minute. I know he's got a lot of irons in the fire, but he came through for us.

I hope all of you independents and happy fieldy types on the AIUK consider becoming members.

How much does it cost to join then?
If it is free then there might be a few NFAS clubs who might be a bit miffed if they are charging a membership fee...and AIUKFAC doesn't.

Its free, though of course you do need to join NFAS. I'm keeping my membership of Blackarrow as well so no need for them to get miffed!

Signing on, (sorry making this up as we go along!) Post in this thread and PM me your name and NFAS number. If you want to shoot under the AIFA banner just drop NFAS a note asking them to make us your club.
Cheers
David

We don't have overheads like land or a clubhouse to pay for, which is why we're free unlike traditional clubs. Remember this is a virtual club! I'm NFAS independent, so I didn't have a club anyway.

Yep, no problem doing it that way Rob, NFAS will send you a card when you join them and pay your fee which is your proof of eligability to shoot. It'll have AIFA listed as your club.
Cheers
