GNAS/FITA field courses

I'm looking for information on FITA field shooting in the midlands. More exactly, marked distance.

From the GNAS field archery site, there is a club at Dearne, near Doncaster. I have e-mailed the address given for entering a shoot earlier this year, but the club do not publish any web site or contact details on the GNAS pages. So far I have not recieved a reply.

when all else fails, try the county secretary. details at:
Yorkshire Archery Association - contact us

There is a number of contacts listed for Dearne Valley on the gnas field website:

Phil

we had a GNAS field competition last month at Friskney, I'm not sure if we are planning anymore this year though.

Hi Phil

Im a member of Dearne. We only run 1 competition per year which is always on the Easter Weekend. If you go the www.gnasfield.co.uk there is a diary on there which lists all the GNAS Field competitions.

For some reason GNAS/FITA field archery is not represented in the Midlands. Meriden used to run one but the nearest now to you Phil would be the Northants shoot. Again the GNAS's own field pages will show you what's going on.

So it's looking like if I want to do regular marked distance field rounds I'm going to have to look for my own wood ?

Not necessarily, but you may have to travel a bit. We often get archers coming to south Wales from a fair way off...

There's a club near Aylesbury (OK, not really midlands, but might be easy for you to get to) called Westcott Archers. They do GNAS/FITA field and target; also NFAS field. They're a very friendly bunch. Northampton do one GNAS/FITA shoot each year; the forest there is also used by NFAS or EFAA (not sure which; might even be both).

On the other hand, if you do manage to find your own wood, please let us know, and we'll come and join you

The field archery course in Northants is run by Black Eagle and is set for marked imperial distances and is near the Northants/Bdford border on the A6 (neal Souldrop). Black Eagle Bowmen

The GNAS event on this range is in June each year and is marked and unmarked metric distances
