Beginners questions

Apologies if these have been asked before but..........as a newbie to this sport, and just about sorting out some form and direction......................
a couple of questions come to mind. I know they are so stupid to most on here but! ....What does AMO stand for?...........and what are the rankings (if any) for NFAS (and how do you get them)?

See......told you they were stupid!!

AMO = Archery Manufacturer and Merchant's Organization. So why not AMMO? Hmmm... They now call themselves the Archery Trade Association (Archery Trade Association - Homepage), but the AMO name is still used when talking about the standards they publish. These standards cover some aspects of equipment, and measurements such as the standard draw-length.

NFAS rankings and classifications - I believe there aren't any. I think the NFAS sees such things as an unnecessary distraction from enjoying your archery.

Quite correct. No classifications in the NFAS - although most claim we shoot for fun I think they might be a good idea in the long run. Might even encourage more archers to have a go at this side of the sport. If I had the time and the spare cash I would certainly like to try my hand at Target again.

Don’t worry, this forum is for everyone.

We have archers here with all levels of experience which most of the ones who post are happy to share for the betterment of the sport.

If you’re worried about sounding “stupid” don’t be, but you might like to do a Search: http://www.archery-interchange.com/forum/search.php first, and the answer you are seeking might just be sitting there waiting!
