I nearly did, there's one only about 10-12 miles away but I didn't know if I had the time spare to go to two different archery clubs and be reasonably good at both.

Of course, now the summer has kicked in and the nights are longer....

I was asked yesterday at the Ballands shoot if there was anything for the family to do while he went to the fort for a shoot

well as it is summer and will be gorgeous weather as always, give em a bucket and spade and go here

Whitsand bay is absolutely stunning with Rame head and Polhawn fort in the distance

we have it rough down here, forts to play in and beaches to swim at

We are now taking entries for one day at The Fortress Shoot 2008, 23 places left each day at the moment

If you can't make both days, then why not come for one and enjoy the depths of the fort

details and entry form at Welcome to archers heaven

Doggies at the Fort update

Originally we were told not to allow dogs into the underground areas of the fort

having looked into this, this is an MOD rule for when blank firing and thunderflashes are used underground and how it affects alsations and attack dogs who haven't got ear defenders, and not for bows and arrows

with this in mind, if your doggie doesnt mind bows and arrows and isn't scared of the dark, or claustophobic, then we will obviously welcome them to all areas of the fort,

Normal rules apply then so as long as you clean up and have them on a lead as usual during shooting we welcome dogs

If your dog doesnt like underground then we will have a safe and secure compound still for them if you prefer
