Excuse my ignorance here, but this is the first time I ever heard of "indoor field 3D"
INDOOR FIELD 3D: Is this popular?
Doesnt it fly in the face of the very essence of the whole field archery "thing"?
If field and 3D are simulations of the hunting experience, doesnt that make "indoor field/3D" like shooting in the local city zoo? Pictures of vets darting animals in concrete enclosures!
Dont field archers live off the fact that they are so much harder than those wimpy target archers that they romp round the woods knee deep in snow and breaking the ice from their bushy beards whilst the feeble target archers, who feel the need to shoot more than 3 arrows at the same target, all retire to their centrally heated sportshalls with electric lighting?
I think all my respect for field archers just went out the window.

Hi Ben,

Yep, Field Archers are roughty toughty - But we do like the warm too!

The Field Course will also be open on the day for people to go and shoot too.

As a Field Archer who's been rained on, hailed on, snowed on and spent 14 hours shooting 40 targets (that was a LONG day with eight people per group) I'm quiet happy to once a year shoot indoors for the fun of it.

Seriously - We had a club Indoor 3D and Field shoot in January this year for a club social event. It went down so well that we decided to open it up to other archers too.

If you goto the link on the original post you'll see a piccie of some of last years targets. This year we've got a lot more 3Ds for you to shoot.

Hope you're able to come along and try it out,

Stu

How can you use the word SERIOUSLY?

oh dear, are they artificial xmas trees that your deer are hiding behind?

I think I'll pass on your kind invitation. I must have something more important to do that day, perhaps learning the handicap tables by heart...

Thanks for your comments.

I hope you manage your important task while me and other archers are having some fun shooting the field course, then shooting the indoor course in the warm when the sun goes down.

Good luck with those tables,

Stu

Hi Ben,

Enougth jesting, it really is good fun.

This year we should have a Baboon hanging upside down, a Bear climbing up the wall, a skinny turkey, more deer.

As far as trees go, we'll bring some wood in from the wood, we've got more christmas trees, and some silk trees too!

It really is good fun.

Stu

I like the idea of doing a field shoot indoors on a cold January weekend. We do target archery in doors, so why not field archery.

Hope J & H are both well. See you at Windrush.

An upside down baboon!! What's not to love!

It sounds fab. Shame it's the same day as my son's 9th birthday otherwise I'd be there!

Perhaps you should give something a try before slagging it off?
