And to think of the months I've wasted in the recurve section, listening to blokes compare their risers!

If WA get's her that'll be it. Full conversion to Field Shooting, with Longbow, Compound and Recurve all on the same day

There are many different ways to mark your arrows. Some people number them. Some people draw rings around them (1 ring, 2 rings or 3 rings) and others like me use different coloured electrical tape, cut thinly and placed round the shaft near the nock. So the tops of my arrows have a thin strip of either red, white or blue (for the peg colours) at the top. My sons prefer to draw rings around their shafts just before the fletchings with a thin permanent marker pen.

That's really interesting, thanks!

I have now actually shot my longbow, allbeit inside, we shot a Portsmouth.
Too embarrassed to tell you my score, but I did hit the target! (And I didn't break any arrows!)

OK Flighty you have one year until the Nationals, by that time you will be an old hand (erm...)
Had you seen some of the sights this year what an eye opener that would have been. We were all marched off down the road to the various courses, between two to four abreast, there were archers at least 100m in front of me and when I turned round......well the column stretched for a good quarter mile behind! that girls and boys was a damn impresive sight, so Flighty we will see you next year!
