| Whoops. http://www.carolarchery.com/ This is the only place I know to get the parts for 1/4 shafts or even make them for you, but whether they can help before Sunday is another question. Do you feel confident enough to make them yourself? Might be a quicker option for you and there are plenty of people who can give advice.

| Thanks, I gave her a ring to see if she could help but she's not about until tomorrow afternoon. I'll try again then. ![]() Possibly this whole thing falls into the 'seemed a good idea at the time' category.. (like so much else I do )Rach

| make them out of 1/4" dowelling from B&Q me dad does been shooting 54 yrs longbow, steel bow, composite, take down. compound, longbow |

| Carefull! Don't buy dowelling which doesn't have straight(ish) and parrallel grain running the length or else (even with 24lbs) the wood could explode as you shoot it. |

| Hi Rachel, your 6 arrows should be enough for a blast around a field course. How many you leave with is another story. Remember though - just because you are shooting field doesn't mean you must shoot at every target. The change in terrain and discipline will be exciting enough without needing any more challenges. Do the ranges you are comfortable with - maybe just stick to 30 yards and under as you will be surprised just how different 20 yards can look depending on the light and course layout. Also (and I hope I'm not being patronising here) when you are shooting longbow out in some woodland wilderness maintain the same good form principles that you would have used with your recurve indoors. Do you have any old paint rollers lying around? If so whip off the fluffy bit and you are left with a handle with a bent metal wire that is perfect for pulling through the undergrowth and finding any lost arrows.Hope you enjoy your field shoot and please pop back into this feral region of AIUK and let us know how you got on.

| Thank you Macbow for all the advice! As I'm having some arrows made for me already (but they won't be ready by Sunday), I've decided to try with my 6 and just not lose all of them And I will be deconstructing a paint roller later this morning... what a great idea! Thanks for the welcome too, I will certainly venture back amongst you wild boys very soon! ![]() Rachel

| Welcome to the woods Rachel ![]() As Macbow's already said, you'll be fine with the 6 you've got for now (have a little faith in yourself, lass!) Enjoy your Sunday outing & let us all know how you get on ![]()

| Must admit that as Macbow and Robtattoo have said, have faith in yourself. Even when I first started I never took more than 9 arrows to a shoot, and only once did I lose / break more than 5. You might not have 6 at the end, but as long as you've enjoyed yourself and made new friends the day will have been a success.
