1st time in the field...

I tried field archery for the first time today, shooting at 3D Rinehart targets....(namely 2 ibis, a snake and a velociraptor!) Was great fun, although chucking it down with rain, otherwise we would have shot for longer! Definitly something I'll be looking to do again, but hopefully in better weather!

Good for you, 3Ds are the biz aren't they! I was shooting some yesterday...I had a lot of trouble with a very tricky badger! I can't imagine managing to hit a SNAKE!! LOL

Field archery, bit of a buzz word at the moment.

Anybody else shooting at Oaktree, near Malvern on the 5th November.

I found the snake the easiest to hit....possibly cos it was in a clearing and upright with a wide hood...(being a cobra!)

You won't be disappointed, Excaliber put on a very good shoot. There are few photos on their website.

We'll be there too and hopefully with my new arrows although I did quite well using Radar's Gucci arrows yesterday until everything got soaked

The Rhino looks fun but not sure about shooting at the Panda though, doesn't seem right somehow!

Looks great! I'm really looking forward to it.

I went to a 'try field' day on Saturday, at Mayflower, and you can see some pictures at www.mayflowerarchers.co.uk It was loads of fun and very well organised. I think it's great when clubs ignore the whole 'tribal' thing and try to get everyone to enjoy all kinds of archery!

Hi All

Did my 1st 3D, unmarked field shoot today at Delamere. Great fun, managed to judge all the distances (more or less!) and amazingly not an arrow lost!

Would recommend to anyone......

Our first National Animal

Hi All
We went to the Surrey Champs at Box Hill on Sunday and shot a National Animal round. We had never shot one before and after a season (or six) of shooting black and gold, these Bjorn(?) animal faces were quite a test. Had no idea of their actual sizes and therefore little idea of the distances either. But only 15 misses for me and similar horrors for the wife and daughter . Just goes to show how specific some of the skills are. Need more practice on these animal faces - pity all these NFAS shoots are over-subscribed.
