| Oldest Lady Field Archer ????? The Friskney Bowmen 'Deer Shoot' held on Sunday 29th October was a great success with archers from 10 to our oldest lady archer, Gladys Ingham now 80 and still competing. Gladys's late husband Dennis founded Friskney Bowmen and I am sure he would be delighted to see how the event attracted a wide variety of archers. It should be noted that Gladys is a former World Champion and member of the GB team. Is Gladys the oldest lady still shooting? | Excellent!! It's fantastic to see people of Gladys's age still shooting - I hope I'm even half as fit as she is when I get to her age! However, Greenwood Osterley can beat that! We have a positively spritely young lady of around the age of 82 who shoots target (not field) regularly, and still competes in tournaments both home and away. Her name is Lena Chandler, and she even still coaches on occasion too. She's married to Stan, who I believe is also in his mid 80's, and I'm sure is familiar to many people around the London / Middlesex area.
