And so it was that the morning came and despite the forcast of dry weather, the moors looked very wet to me. Great, what a way to get back into it...rain. But I should have feared not but dry weather greeted us for the Bicton shoot. 31 x 3D greeted us and 124 archers greeted them. It was told that 40 were on a waiting list. Two minutes silence were given to remember those that have fallen and was played in expertly by a bugle player and in the silence that befell the field, only the wailing cry of a seagull could be heard. Bicton Field Archers did themselves proud following the problems at the Devon Challenge and credit must be given where credit is due. The course was laid out well and gave nothing to the archers..it was a day of work but nailing the targets gave imense satisfaction to those that achieved. The catering was excellent and very professional being run by club members who I might add wore (quite properly) catering uniform. The food was plentiful and cheap. Plenty of quality raffle prizes (good wines) and with only 50p for a strip made sure plenty were purchased. The prize giving was orderly and with a microphone and loudspeaker made sure everyone heard the results, a thing the organisers of all DCAS target shoots could learn from. And so it was that medals were given according to entries so rewards were justified and before the setting of the sun, we made our way home happy and contented. I did not hear a single word of complaint. I for one will be back to support this club and suggest that you book in early for their next one...I'll be making sure I do.

Well done all those at Bicton Field Archery Club.
