Hi Jim

A timer is a good idea, but I don't think your shot is too fast in general.

The key for you, I think, is to get your shot smooth and not to "snatch" it when the clicker drops. The key to good shooting is control - controlling how you draw the bow, controlling when the shot goes off and controlling where the sight is when you finish the shot execution (this is more to do with focus than actually using conscious control). The other point is to get the alignment and forces right. If you have a good balanced push-pull then you will achieve a better, stronger shot.

Get someone to video your shooting and then you can review it.
