If you have the hide of a rhino to be able to ignore the recurve archers spewing venom at your 6 gold end, a sense of humour good enough to laugh when you hit the blue and other compound archers stop talking to you, and the self-discipline not to wince when the string hits your arm because you extended it too far and you don't wear a bracer (because they're for recurvers) then compound is great!

I don't know about technical - I just shoot it and look all winsome at our more technically minded men when mine goes a bit funny!
