Murray it wasnt that long ago that I got an e-newsletter from Chiltern introducing their new manager and she was looking for ideas and I sent my idea to them of a national database of equipment entered by individuals via their committee, have never received any response from them, but in thinking about it
GNAS would be the natural choice for a database of stolen equipment, however its gonna be a difficult one to police correctly because it could be open to abuse, but I do believe that if we keep shouting long enough then perhaps it will be fruitful and beneficial to the archery world in the UK. I had a conversation some time ago with Stan from Chiltern and he was of the impression that archery would soon be a licenced sport so perhaps this is already on the cards and people are just waiting for legislation.
