| It might be OK without tipweight; with a light bow like that, the weight of the rod itself might be enough. And it would probably make him feel good!
If he's anything like most children I know ( and I have 3, though all grown up now) he will be annoyed if he doesn't get one. But if he finds it actually makes shooting harder, he will give it up of his own accord. Try it!
