In FITA field the maximum distance you shoot is 60M. For IFAA it is 80 yards, but you only shoot 2 arrows at that distance.
A lot of barebow and longbow archers shoot field. They certainly miss, but they also find their arrows. Because the distances are shorter and it is generally sheltered in the woods, there is no need for Aluminium/Carbon arrows. XX75s are fine, or Redlines once you are confident you won't miss the boss.
The other thing I meant to say is that the longer targets also have pegs for juniors, so while you are improving it is quite possible to shoot a field round and not shoot further than 30 or 40M.
