Why does there always seem to be a swing towards finding "them and us" argments in our sport?

I've tried field, and certainly enjoyed it... just spent so much time competing in target that I don't have time to compete in Field too. Field is, IMO a more complex game - more technically challenging and requires a wider range of skills.
Upsides to field - More challenge. More interesting surroundings. Can be more physically demanding.
Downsides to field - No tent! Disparate organisations and rules. Less accessible for those who are not able bodied.
