Please don't forget that this year's Co's and VPG were an experiment. Also keep in mind that P&S is Dave's club and this is his website, so it seems quite fair that it was held there. P&S were very gracious to allow us take over their club on Saturday.
Yes, Steve did drive a lot on Saturday, but do not forget that Murray drove all the way from Bo'ness in Scotland and had just as long a drive as the southern contingent, therefore making it quite central.
I'd also like to point out that there is a great deal of time and expense that went into planning the American (as well as SoCo and NoCo). If we are to expand these events next year, we will need many more members volunteering to host or help run the events.
For as many southerns complaining that Preston was too far, there were as many northerners complaining that there were too many southern events. Therefore, I want to clarify that the SoSo events are not OFFICIAL
AIUK events, but rather
AIUK members getting together informally to shoot. There are no rounds shot, no raffles, no awards. Only Co* events have the official
AIUK seal of approval. The fact is, the southern contingent wanted to get together again because they enjoy each other's company.
We will not be able to please everyone, but we will do our best to try to. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and were unable to have a moderator meeting after The American. However, we will be meeting sometime soon and the Co* events for next year will be discussed. THEN we will have a better idea of where and when we will have Co* events.
Of course, we always welcome members' opinions. It's important to know how people feel about these things, but remember we're doing our best!
Cheers
