I use a pin, but most of the time I ignore the fact that its there, when you are shooting at 90m, I can't see how anyone would be able to focus on the boss and on a pin less then 2 foot in front of them (at the same time).

However when I get closer, I find myself using both the loop and the pin, and for indoor, I tend just to use the pin. Agreed if you focus on the gold, then move the sight into line of vision, your shots will become more consistent, but then you shouldn’t really be thinking about "aiming" until you are ready to release the shot.
