| I tend to leave the sight arm out as far as possible to give me finer adjustment... I've never been that bothered by the 'cantilever effect' having the sight bar fully extended has, although I have one of the aforementioned Arten Olympic sights, so maybe they actually do 'exactly what it says on the tin'!
I would, however, caution against chopping the back end of the sight arm, as, since it's part of the whole bow/arrow/archer system, it could throw your tuning out (it'll probably be a small effect on the system, but it's difficult to predict...)
