| Holding on the pads requires more effort than holding in the creases. The mechanical advantage is against you if you like.
A very thick tab material will keep the string further away from the creases than a thinner one. It will feel comfortable in one sense but it requires more effort to hold the string back.(mechanical disadvantage at work again.)
Sore fingers, when shooting, comes from pressure in small areas or friction where the finger touches the nock. If one finger does little or no work, the other two are subjected to a 50% increase. |
