I am not sure if it because the version is different or not, as I am running it on office 2007, but it has been made to work on versions office xp, and office 2000. However, I have never tried it on office 97, so I cannot say if it is a compatability issue. Sorry. If anyone else has any problems, please ask.

| I got it working eventually. Wont tell you how, that would spoil the fun. I have to say [look away if you dont want an honest opinion] either I am misunderstanding the intention, or it is rubbish. As a T/O when the running slips or score boards come in to me, they dont come nicely sorted into "all gents recurve", and "all gents compounds". When the scoreboard or running slip for target 21 arrives in my hand (first) it could have four archers, each in a different category. Target 21A: (1) how do I know what category this archer is? My running slips dont list archers category! Check target list. now open "gents recurve" list, (2)enter or find (running scores scenario) the archer by name (oh dear my running slips dont have the archers names on them) (3)enter his/her score Target 21B: start all over again. There is a lot of software that works like this so you are not alone. Youve approached the solution from an archers point of view. The most important thing to an archer is "what do I shoot? compound/recurve/longbow" As a data-entry clerk inputting scores into a computer as fast as is humanly possible, when I get a running slip with 4 scores on it, all I want to do is enter those scores as fast as possible. Type in the target number, type in 4 scores on the running slip. I dont have time to open different forms, click etra buttons or search for things in lists. Ok I admit, my opinion is biased as I wrote my own software to do running slips/leader boards and final results, but with a background in commerical software and industrial dataprocessing the old KISS rule works well. My software is a bit of overkill running sqlserver back end to allow multiple operators to enter scores simulataneously, but it work (even on a standalone laptop) Come to the Lincoln EMAS double fita star in June and I'll let you gawp in awe at a truley fantastic system. I am currently rewriting for dotnet to use the free version of sqlserver express to make it commercially viable. watch this space+> [ok you can look back now]

When it was used before, this was the first problem we encountered. The software, while nice and presentable, and well layed out does have some obvious practicality issues. The only reason this worked at all was because the running slips we were using had full details of all archers shooting on them, and with a team of 4 scoring "clerks", me the last in the line at the laptop, by the time I got the running slips (clerk one and two collected, three organised them and passed them to me) they were all in order and ready to go... And then I just banged all the scores into the system... We did a fifth clerk doing the exact same thing as I was manually sat next to me with a score book, and they took only a couple of extra minutes to finish the results - however they lacked the ability to replicate pages of the results quicks for a leaderboard or to put the results in order so the winners could be seen easily ready for awards. The benefit was that there was no period after the shoot where the T/O's go off to work out the winners of all the categories, as its done immediately after the last running slip has hit the deck. However, this was disputed as a bad thing by some, because apparently some actually like the "break" period after the shoot. Not that we were shouting out the winner and kicking folks out the door or anything lol... But thanks - it is a clear and obvious flaw Personally I thought the handicap program made using Access was much better. Just a shame I can't find it.

Also Mrs GA has just fallen off her chair reading about all the info you have on your running slips. It is her job to write out the running slips for our two major tournaments this year (approx 100 archer each tourny, one being 2 day) "You neednt think that I am doing that" was the phrase she used. Whilst I am on a roll, in processing running slips I often discovered score cards that were changed AFTER filling in the running slips. I cant find any easy way of viewing or amending previously entered data to find and correct mistakes. AND there doesnt seem to be any validation: I can enter ABC for a score and your system amazingly manages to accept it as a valid score; There is no way of checking running scores against totals. My system (like several others) you enter a dozen total and the computer tells you what the running total should be (these are the two items on my running slips) My system (oh it sounds like Im boasting now) runs the double fita. About 100 archers. Me and another person collect running slips, I enter all the data. Leader board updated by the end of the next end and final results were ready 15 minutes after the end of shooting, both days with printed results for people to take away. Some people were still taking their bows down when we called them for the presentation. Damn Im good. Like I said, come to the double fita star and be in awe!
