Trouble is some clubs are reluctant to allow people who have been members for at least the minimum ammount of time to become part of the committee, like at the AGM:
It took a lot of pressure to get one person who works with children, already knows the child protection stuff, and has already undergone multiple CRB checks to be voted as
deputy child protection officer.
Trying to move out none shooting members is even more difficult. Trophies and medals officer basically just orders any replacements needed, collects in the trophies at the end of the year, and
might polish them once a year. A club member who had been a member for several years said she wouldn't mind taking over the role from the none shooting member. This was put up for discussion and revoked. This same member then offered to act as an
assisstant trophies and medals, only to be turned down again. This being after the equipments officer had had a deputy equipment officer post created to assist in repairs.
Amazing how people who claim not to mind being replaced on committees try to defend
their post - even though it is technically vacant at the AGM.
Looks like the only way is to take control post by post, club by club, county by county, region by region
Anywho... complaint over. I need to think up some more opinions. I may even end up more opinionated than Jeremy Clarkson

Not likely though!
