| Rep power is the amount of power you have to alter another person' reputation on the board. If you appreciate someone's posting and want to add to their reputation you click on the little scales symbol in the above bar (on the right). When you click 'I approve' and then click 'Add to reputation' your rep power (in your case 174) would be added to their reputation total. In the same way, if you don't like what someone is saying or feel they're wrong you can take away their reputation by clicking 'I disapprove' and it would remove 174 points from their reputation. More about reputation can be found in the AIUK Support and Knowledge Base - do a search on reputation.

| Acctually your rep power is about 10% of your rep. Think Dave repped me and I went up to about 99 and he had 990 rep points. Something like tha anyway.

| Sorry, my bad... I goofed up here: I tried give rep points to a bunch of posts I found very helpful, by clicking on the "I approve" button. But because I haven't made the minimum number of posts myself, it seems those points don't count. It's all explained perfectly clearly in the forum rules; I just didn't read them. Sorry. However I am a little concerned (or more accurately, embarrassed) that those points DID show up in someone's user profile... as NEGATIVE points?! It's not a huge problem, this is a forum after all and folks don't seem to take differences of opinion personally, but I do feel badly as it's completely the opposite of what I was trying to do. Is there any way I can fix this? Cheers, Russ

| Try sending a PM to Dave. he should be able to sort it. You could just give these people positive rep but you may not be able as you cant give rep to the same person too soon.

| Russ, I've checked the Rep logs, none of the rep you gave counted as negative rep so don't worry ![]() Dave
