Thumbs up SoSo: Southern Social 2 - the cake is back

Following on from the success of the last Social shoot, where we had a good turn out, even without the attendance of those who refuse to go south of the river..we might be able to squeeze one more social shoot in this years calendar.

Unfortunately the only dates I'm available (and lets face it, I'm not going to set it all up and not go myself) are the 12 & 26 Aug.

We have two options as far as venue are concerned, Quicks and Chiltern Archery - assuming that they can offer use their range for the day.

I am return to Quicks on Sat. to see if I can strike a deal with them regarding the use of their field for the day. Depending upon which sentence I listened to last time I might be able to get discount, or I might get it for free.

I would however like to hold the event at Chiltern Archery. They have in the past offered us free use of their facilities for such shoots. However in light of the events of last week, if they are able to let us use their facilities I would like to pay for their use, supporting them in the same way in which they offered to support us.

You are able to vote for more than one location or date.

T.

My votes go to Chiltern for obvious reasons but I would attend if it was held at Quicks

having somewhat ashamedly not been able to attend the two previous SoCo shoot's and im not going to miss it for a third time my vote also goes to chiltern archery as they are one far closer than apps court and two i feel that we should show support by using them.

having missed the last one, i am in fear of being dubbed anti social!!!!

I have gone for Chiltern (for the obvious reason and not so obvious reason that I may buy a cheap flat bow there) and for the 12th, only date i got free, and good warm up for my league match the following day

cheers

Joe

SoCo3???

I voted for all options because I would never miss a *Co event! Obviously, supporting Chiltern in light of the fire is favourable, but we're also working on a deal with Quicks and wouldn't want to lose momentum with that.

Basically, just count me in wherever it is. I will however need a lift to either venue.

P.S. Aren't we on SoCo3, or didn't the first one count as a social? Confusing.

Like Joe I don't want to be judged anti-social for missing the last one so will definately be up for this one !

I have voted for Chiltern as it would be good for us to show them some support after recent events and they were great hosts last time.

It has nothing to do with the fact that they are much closer to where I live and not sarf of the river !

The reason for naming it Social2 rather than SoCo3 is down to a request to try to keep social shoots separated from the 'Classics' where we will have prizes, raffles and set rounds (possibly to tie in with the winter & summer leagues). Social shoots will be less formal affairs where we turn up and shoot whatever we like for as long as we like with frequent breaks for cake..chatting.

I will call Chiltern in the next couple of days to see if they have the facilities to accomodate us. I will also know by Sat evening if Quicks are able to let us use their facilities for a reasonable price.

Most importantly, I look forward to seeing you all again (and some of you who haven't been before).

This may appear at first to be heresy, but could we limit the amount of cake brought? At the last event more cake was supplied than could possibly be eaten - though some of us tried manfully. Perhaps something savoury or fruit.
