with both of them, what if someone has changed bowstyles since first signing up? Will that person have to re-register, or can the bowstyle be changed?

I like the look of the schedule but I agree with LMPs point that promotion/relegation won't work outdoors due to the different distances. Perhaps splitting each schedule into 2 divisions may work if you do want to introduce the promotion/relegation thing.

I think, in a roundabout way, I was trying to get rid of the mens/ladies rounds so we could all shoot equally But I really don't want to make it more complex than it already is, so it'll probably be the same as last year and you just choose the schedule you're happiest with.

Can I throw in a wild thought! Rather than specifying a round per month, how about asking people to commit to a set of rounds & then let them submit them in any order (maybe at a rate of one per month). Those of us with limited access to shooting can end up stuffed when there is a specific round to be shot within a specific set of days.

If you set up the schedules to include some "joker" rounds (say a Warwick or two) for the time pressured months we could cover things like the Xmas & August holiday periods with a full field of archers, instead of a reduced turnout, as I seem to see in last month's scores.

This is, of course, a biased suggestion. I work (more than) full time & it takes me 45 minutes of travelling to get to shoot. Add the set up time (bow & range) & take sunset & other archers into account & it's hard to fit in a "real" round except on a Sunday morning (where other activities allow).

That would work for me as this year I have shot most of the rounds but in the wrong months !

Let me see if I've got LC's idea right (with my own additions )...

We have a list x amount of rounds suited to each schedule. You then pick 6 off that list (indoor season). You shoot one a month in the order that suits you. In the outdoor season you'll only pick 5, as the last round will be an American to coincide with the annual season end event.

Have I got that right?

a drawback with this idea is if archer A shoots a hereford and archer B shoots a Windsor, how will the scores be compared? Unless points are correlated at the end of the season - which would result in more work in a lump for the the database manager.
