Proposed Schedule for AIUK VGP and Winter Leagues 2007

Put together a quick schedule containing shorter rounds that could possibly be shot on a club night, any comments, suggestions?

I've also added a fifth schedule to the VGP for Juniors.
Alex, apologies for not being able to get in this year's VGP!

VGP Schedules: If you shot this years VGP and finished in the top 4 of your division you will move up a division (except division 1) and shoot in the higher schedule. If you finished in the bottom 4 you will be moved down a division and shoot in the lower schedule (except division 4).

New archers registering for the VGP will have the option to choose which schedule they'd like to shoot.

Those archers who registered for the VGP and did not enter a score will have to re-register as new entrants.

Winter League Divisions: Those that finished in the top 4 will move up to the next division, those in the bottom 4 will be moved down a division.

New archers registering for the Winter League will be assigned a division based on there first score.

Winter League
October: Portsmouth 20yrds 5 doz.
November: Portsmouth 20yrds 5 doz.
December: Frostbite: 30m 3 doz.
January: FITA 18 18m 5 doz.
February: Portsmouth 20yrds 5 doz.
March: Portsmouth 20yrds 5 doz.

Summer VGP

April 6 Doz. Arrows
S1: New National
S2: Long National
S3: National
S4: Short National
S5: Junior National

May 8 Doz. Arrows
S1: New Western
S2: Long Western
S3: Western
S4: Junior Western
S5: Short Junior Western

June 6 Doz. Arrows
S1: Long Metric (G)
S2: Long Metric (L)
S3: Long Metric II
S4: Long Metric III
S5: Long Metric IV

July 6 Doz. Arrows
S1: FITA 70m
S2: Cadet 720
S3: 50m
S4: 40m
S5: 30m

August 4 Doz. Arrows

S2: Long Warwick
S3: Warwick
S4: Short Warwick
S5: Short Junior Warwick

September 7.5 Doz. Arrows

All of the above ideas are just rough at the mo' so any feedback is welcome.

Cheers

Dave

Erm... aren't portsmouth rounds only 5 doz? Or have I been doing them wrong all these years? And how about a FITA 25m somewhere in there as well? If we have to go outside to shoot a frostbite, surely we can find 25m somewhere as well!
Oh, and a FITA 60m round is called a Cadet's 720 round.

Cheers Grant, I've had a 6 buzzing around my head all day....
A lot of clubs are short on space when shooting inside, so I decided to stick to 18m/20 yrds
Sorry, don't do too many FITAs Is there a name for the 50m 40m and 30m?

I understand moving up in divisions through the winter league as everyone is on the same rounds - but the summer one?? I personally don't want to HAVE to shoot at 100 yards or 90 metres - have I got the wrong end of the stick?? I chose schedule 2 as the longest distance was 80y / 70m and they are the distances I always shoot

And I might end up in the top 4...as only 4 of us have entered scores in division 3! A scary thought....

Fair comment, LMP, I was considering putting in a clause that if anyone didn't want to shoot the longer (or shorter) distances then they wouldn't have to, but I thought I'd wait and see if anyone raised it.

Not to make life difficult Dave.....

Maybe the schedules could be split if we have more people entering?!? That way everyone gets a crack at their own level and no one is dominating their chosen schedule
