VGP Division Progression

Hi All,

I only started this year, so missed the majority of the rounds.

That's not my worry though, it's the fact that I don't know whether to enter the next division up or not next year.

Do only the top 3 of each division go up, or what?

Also, is there a page where you can review just the rounds for the divisions? I spent ages once trying to find it, pretending to register again just to see the rounds list.

Cheers all, love this idea!

I was proposing that the first three of each division should be promoted but that prompted a bit of an outcry! Soooo... the VGP will again be whichever schedule you'd like to shoot.

The page with last year's rounds on it has been removed.

I'm not sure that's how it will work... For example, I came 2nd in division 2, but I won't want to be in division 1 next year, as that's gents rounds, and not those I shoot very often, if at all. So I'd like to stay with the schedule I'm shooting now. Whether there's enough interest to separate each schedule into divisions... perhaps Dave can answer ...

{EDIT}
Looks like Dave already did

Ok, no worries, cheers Dave!

Perhaps it could be done on the classifcation you earned in the previous year? Not sure how juniors would fair in that scenario though.

Might be a fairer way to make the divisions? I'm just brainstorming here, not trying to influence anything, I always do this, just to get ideas out

Probably something to think about for the future, but I'd just like to keep it simple at the mo' and keep everyone happy by allowing them to choose what round they're most comfortable with

I like the idea of picking a schedule but instead of entering the score for that month be able to enter the score for that round up to the end of August - then the American in September.

So you're saying that we would be able to shoot our chosen schedule in any order, so long as the schedule's completed by the end of August...

Interesting idea, but, just to play devil's advocate for a moment, won't it make it impossible to accurately compare scores until the end of August...? It's a bit like comparing apples with oranges... For example, it's much easier to see how I'm doing in the overall scheme of things if I shoot a York in the same month as everyone else than it is if I were to shoot a York in the same month as everyone else shoots a FITA...

Personally, I'd prefer to see how I'm doing month-by-month against people who have shot the same round...

It would be good, but you'd have to wait til the american to know the league standings!

I'm simply going to make more of a concerted effort to get the rounds in, once I've got classification scores. Each time I get one, the following week I'll go for the AIUK round.

I think by keeping it month to month it helps maintain interest. If we left it all until August then it's 6 months where nothing happens here on the site regarding the VGP.

Agreed, it's good to know how you're doing month by month.
