VGP Division 2, Cadet 720

Having successfully got myself moved into Div 2 now that I'm shooting 80 yard rounds, I noticed that there's a "Cadet 720" round listed for later in the year - There are no hyperlinks from the round names on the summer VGP, as there are for the winter one to give their descriptions, and I cant find this round in any of the usual places on 'tinternet - can someone explain what it is please?

Aha! I think I've found it, but could do with confirmation if anyone has it:

6 dozen at 60m on a 122cm face, yes?

It doesn't look like it's an official FITA/GNAS handicap rated round - wouldn't it be easier to change it to a FITA 70m so we could get a h'cap rated score from it too?

oooo, why would we be shooting at 60M in division 2?? Is this deliberate dave.... or an oversight? I see we aren't shooting any long rounds either ( FITA's or Hereford's)

Yeah Dave, what LMP said!

I think you'll find that the Cadet round is a kid's round - more suitable to Div3 or lower, surely?

Because when the longer rounds were suggested people complained that they wouldn't be able to fit them in due to time restrictions on their shooting fields.

The original round for Schedule 2 was a called something different, but then someone pointed out that the round was called a Cadet 720!

Here's the original post from Grant re: the Cadet 720

Proposed Schedule for AIUK VGP and Winter Leagues 2007

The Round for May for schedule 1 is a FITA 70M that's why the schedule 2 round is set at 60m.

Just cos Grant says it's called something doesn't mean it is, according to FITA (book 1 section 4.5) it is the 'The FITA 60 Meter Round for Cadets' now there's a mouthful: but yes I think that closer to FITA 60m!
I think I thought last year that the '720' phrasing wasn't commonly used in the UK but it's not a round Grant or I are likely to be doing so.... i'm none too bothered.

Not having shot too many metric rounds at the time I was open to correction; as Grant is far more experienced than I am I took his word for it
