lucky beggar... he should get a higher score then AND be lovely and warm!!

I find the FITA-18 to be great practice for Portsmouths. Last indoor season Tarkwin, Ruth and I spent January doing mostly FITA-18 and I found that my accuracy on subsequent Portsmouth rounds was sooo much better. Sure it was my first season (big leaps, etc), but I went from 402 on my first attempt on 8th December to 519 in my club's Indoor Championship on 19th March, and walked away with the silverware. The FITA-18 shooting in January made a huge difference.

So they take the same space and logistics as a Portsmouth, and they make you more accurate. What's not to like?

Problem is Rhys doesn't do warm. He's like me. any sign of sun and we have to cover up cos we both frazzle, even wearing sun block.

Sorry kinda late into this discussion as I only entered the league 5 minutes ago.

Any combination of portsmouth / fita18 is good for me, I would struggle to fit in anything longer than 30yds though (the extra 2 yards of a 30M SM3 is a killer as our hall is only 35M long).

Coming to this very late, and without reading later posts... there's been a winter field league running in south Wales for a while. 12 targets shot to FITA/GNAS regulations, with a handicap worked out to some arcane method I've never quite mastered. All unmarked, I think - but I could be wrong about that. No need to book; just turn up on the day and hope it's not raining. Next one now is 6th Jan at Pentref, at about 10:00ish.
