Glasgow - Update

Folks,

Uller, Woodesplitter & Myself were up at whitecraigs yesterday marking out.

The field itself isn't too soggy, but the walk to the field is - we are shooting on the far away pitch coz the Rugger boys are scared we'll lose an arrow!!!

We also have a dressing room which will be available for afterwards, should anyone want to get changed out of wet clothes.

The clubhouse kitchens are open, so hot food/drink etc will not be any problem.

Weather looks like its gonna be showers, with a light, changeable wind.

If we're lucky we might even get a chance to do some deer hunting . The field was visited by a nice spritely deer yesterday when we were setting up.

For those posh folk with Sat Nav, the full post code is: G77 6PX

Any probs etc, please give me a call.

What a great day - thanks to Darthter and the gang for organising it!

It started out calm but overcast with some light drizzle early on, but soon warmed up and I had to remove a layer (and was still too hot!!). We were wondering if it should be declared "Not inclement enough"

There was almost no wind, and the only real hazard was the very muddy ground which left everyone with a "tide mark " pretty much from the knees down.

My shooting, unfortunately, didn't benefit from the conditions (at least until I got a layer off after lunch break - then my groups miraculously shrunk!) - must look at that clearance problem!

Woodsplitter entertained us by forgetting to hang onto the longbow a few times (and cursing the self nocks which wouldn't stay on the string), but he did manage a few nice 10s with the bent stick.

All in all a great day. I didn't get any pics but I did see Dougal, Florence and Dathter sneaking around with a camera in their hands so maybe we'll see some pics in here later!

Thumbs up Muchly fun

I had a great time too, and I was meant to be helping with the organising!

Well done to 'Darther' for making sure everything went ok and thanks to everyone for braving the mud on the long walk to the field.

Photos will appear when I figure out how to upload them....................

Didn't manage to get a shot of the longbow being thrown at the target though.
