Winter Rounds for 2008/9

OK I know it is next year 8 months away, but I would like to Propose that for Compound division 1 at least we go to Fita 18 for the rounds, I have damaged too many arrows this year I do not fancy doing too many Portsmouth's next year. Anyone else?

I can understand if people really like the Portsmouth round and want to keep it in.

You can get 3 spots for Portsmouths as well!

If I remember correctly I think Portsmouth's were chosen because they were easy to fit into everyone who was taking part's shooting schedule.

It would help though if Portsmouth 3 spot's were available

Perhaps we could have a poll to see if compound shooters taking part in the league would sooner shoot a FITA 18.

A lot of my arrow damage has been from single faces, I have been shooting some 3 spot faces but a lot of my sessions require me to shoot 6 arrow ends to get a round in so even on a 3 spot that is 2 per target and I am damaging them there even , I could shoot 2x3spot fitas on a boss but not 2x3 spot Portsmouth's.

It Just seemed as well all I am doing this year are Portsmouth's fed up of them, but as I said it is up to the other members, a Poll may be in order.

Aim to miss them then or like me spread them around the target abit

I'm struggling a bit to follow - I know everyone has a preference but is there that much difference? Indoor short distance - 60 arrows aimed at the middle - off home. Is there some magic aspect of a fita 18 that I have overlooked?

This same question comes up every year.... similar for outdoors too!!!

We have very few FITA 18 competitions here in the North and therefor do not practice or shoot them!! Portsmouth for me!

Not bothered but to me a FITA 18 is just a Portsmouth with a smaller face. Recently I have been having enough difficulty hitting the Portsmouth middle with archery_mum giving me a good beating (in competitive terms) each time. So a FITA 18 would be an even bigger challenge.

In reality though a FITA 18 should give a wider spread of results.

You mean it's NOT on Fita 18's??? Damn it, I could've been winning by even more

Seriously mate, I'd prefer to shoot Fita 18's myself but I suppose majority rules. I do like the idea of having Div 1 as Fita's though but it would probably be in danger of promoting 'Eliteism'. You could always shoot Fita's regardless and have a real Ironman Challenge (Hmmmm, brain cells ticking away for next year )
