Ick, why's everyone so keen on the full FITAs? What a pia to change the face and the distance!

(Maybe I'm just lazy!)

But, you only get one shot at it, excuse the pun!

We are also shooting two westerns, and a hereford and can fit those and nationals in on a weeknight if everyone keeps all their arrows on.

The 12-dozen rounds are a mission though, especially if you're only used to shooting 8 dozen rounds, so I'd be for it if we had a couple of goes.. Not to mention the fact we're only just both back from injuries and the like, as fun as it may be, it's not gonna be very competitive, is it?

Best to give yourself the best chance of getting a good score, surely?

Just my 2 penneth, "yourself" was not directed at you Leigh, btw!

Dave, Could the problem here be that those shooting schedule 1 also want to shoot longer rounds (i.e. more dozens as well as longer distances).

Is there any reason why Schedule 1 couldn't be a FITA with others being shorter rounds such as 1/2 FITAs or Nationals

Good point, Geoff. I guess the thinking behind the way it is, is that the VGP is set up like a conventional tournament field so you have, say, a St. George/Albion for the main round and then the targets for the shorter distance Windsors. Of course we're now going to get into more arguments about what round should be shot in the other schedules

Must admit to being a little bemused at the whole debate - has one month caused such hassle before? I've probably missed a whole lot of the background by not being around for a bit....
Anyhow I'm up for anything - if its possible to fit it in with what I'm already doing then fine, if not I'll try to fit it in elsewhere. If neither is possible then I miss out. Obviously the shorter rounds are easier to find space for as 'extras', but on the other hand I have two Fitas and a York this month (weather permitting - Sunday doesn't look too special!) which would mean not having to find any space at all.
I'll leave it up to you, boss - just let me know when you decide!

I don't mind shooting 12 dozen rounds when they coincide with a Comp but if they were 12 Doz every month like last year I doupt I would have time , the schedule this year was perfect for me as it was, ok the 70M in schedule 1 was out of place for some reason, but it is a recognised premiere round, and everyone else in schedule 1 was shooting it as well which is all that counts.

For next Year 6 dozen (4/6/8) rounds over 1 or 2 distances are fine for me due to the time it takes to complete them I like shooting 100/90 but as long as everyone in the schedule is shooting the same I don't think it matters.

I have voted for the half fita. I am not attending any FITA shoots in July so a full FITA would be a bit of a squeeze on our club nights which only run 6:00-9:00 twice a week. If the FITA is chosen though I will give it a go.

I`ve voted St George/Albion/Windsor
St George is my favourite round to shoot as it`s the 1st round i got a Bowman score on after 8 months shooting
+ they fit nicely in with the schedule design
Div1 St George Div2 Albion Div3 Windsor Div4 Short Windsor easy peasy
+ they`re only 9 dozen so 1 more dozen than a western

2nd choice would be a Full Fita rather than a 1/2
3rd Long Metric
4th Westerns

New National, New Western and Long Metric are already on the schedule so why repeat when there are other options. Voted for St. George but any of the others would be fine with me (inc Fita 70m)
