worn glasses since i was 7 (long sighted plus dodgy muscles behind my wandering left eye - hence me shooting right handed / eyed as an otherwise 'devout' left hander)

just over 2 years since my last test so about due for another one but my prescription never changes THAT much (getting very slowly worse) although increased PC use has accelerated change slightly in recent years

havent tried shooting without my glasses but i might just for shits and giggles since it couldnt make things much worse !

Without my glasses, I would be useless: couldn't drive, read, operate a computer, operate a till, even sweep roads without tripping over every little thing. I need my glasses to be a "useful" member of society. But the cost of them is getting on for £500, which, in one bash is a considerable dent in the income. Do I get any help? Not a bean. Luckily for me, I put glasses at the top of my priorities. So I am investing in my own treatment for what would otherwise be a severe disability. I realise it's economics, and if everyone who needed glasses had them provided the country would be crippled (add in dentists fees, prescription charges etc). "Free at the point of delivery" - I think knot.
just to **** you off a bit more, i use to work in optics making lenses, for example varifocle lenses we buy the blanks for £17.50 each (£35) pair. grind and polish them, ie turn them into lenses then charge the optican £50 to £75 depending on the RX. we also made the frames and the cost us about £6. we send to the optician , the optician would plonck them on your nose and charge you £500, ever seen an optcian driving a clapped out ford, never. more like a flash beemer or merc, now you know why

I get my eyes tested every six months and health checked every 6 months so I see the optician every three months.

I use contacts and glasses when my hayfever is too bad or my eyes are tired.

Of course there wasn't an option on the poll for "I really look after my eyes".

Rise or fall - if rise I should take them off again

Had my eyes tested last week....

Slight change in prescription, not bad considering that the last time I was tested was 7 years ago.

Not a huge change, but opted to get new goggles anyway!!!

I wear contact lenses (now on daily disposables) so have a full check up once a year plus a quick check-up (mainly for eye health and to check the prescription) each six months when I pick up the next batch of lenses.

My prescription (-1.5 -3.5) hasn't changed in a decade!

I'd love to - if it existed!
Perhaps you need to avail yourself of the services of an optician?

As raedwald pointed out, the nearest option says "I was tested in the last year and dont need glasses", implying that glasses are not required at all (perfect eyesight). Being a stickler for accuracy (if such surveys are to have any useful meaning) I'm not inclined to vote using an option that almost matches.
