| I've been an expander for quite a while, but I'm now switching to being a pusher after reading chapter 4.13 of "The Heretic Archer". Vittorio simply presents a brilliant argument in favour of pushing, much more convincing than the arguments I've seen for pulling or expanding. |

| I try to focus on punching to the gold, the arrow however seems to focus on going where ever it likes ![]()

| I always believed in expanding too, however my coach is teaching me pushing and now I see why its so good, just very difficult to do it right everytime, my coordination is shot. |

| I pull and use my front arm as an solid object that braces the bow into position. By pushing I would be trying to use muscles in my bow arm which is a bad thing to do.

| The pushing i am learning comes from the shoulder area, the idea is not to moce the arm at all. Thats why im having such big trouble learning it. |

| I just don't understand how the push from the shoulder works[1], so I don't try to replicate it as I'm sure that doing it the wrong way is pointless (and potentially damaging). At the moment I'm trying to do pretty much what Marcus says. [1] N.B. I'm not saying it doesn't work, as it clearly does for some (Frangilli, Im Dong Hyun, etc.). I just mean that as I don't understand how it should be done properly I'm wary of trying it for myself. |
