Speaking of carbon footprint...

Im certainly one to doubt global warming and its effects - the biggest cynic of it out there:

But I had to question my views on it today after:

Being snowed on

The sun blazing (not a cloud in sight)

Being snowed on again

The sun blazing (not a cloud in sight)

Being snowed on again.

All in the same day over the space of about 4 hours... We literally stood on the field and gaped in confusion as to what the hell the weather was doing and how rapidly it could change...

I need to echo sp220 here. I shot at Spelthorne today and we had gusts of wind, hail, sleet and snow. Conditions only improved after we had finished and not one archer refused to shoot or quit because of the adverse weather.

Sam, i dont want to get into this too much, but it shouldn't be called global warming, it should be called climate change. That's because the warming is a global average, but its effects might manifest as unseasonably cold, snowy weather here.

First person to say; "snow in March? someone turn up the global warming! haha" gets a smack!

If anyone doubts climate change, go to NZ in december. NZ has it all. You can get badly sunburned, while you are running away from a major flood!
(10 years ago it wasn't like that; it used to be quite predictable in their summer time)

Hijack over..

Pah, you are all wimps unless you were at Taverham!

A field round, a clout and a target round, all in blizzards! How that's hardcore!

Someone once said (TobyToolbag, I think...)....
"There is no such thing as bad weather.....just the wrong clothing"

I think that basically sums things up. I don't mind getting wet or blown about a bit. It makes things more interesting. It also affects everyone on the field.

I've paid my money, so I'm gonna shoot!!! Unless the officials call it off. So far, I havn't really shoot in too many appalling conditions, tricky - yes, but nothing that would cause me to consider retiring.
