knives and first aid kits

So following on from the various knife threads a little while ago, I was wondering who actually carries some kind of first aid kit with them. If you watch good old Ray Mears etc they always expound the need to carry emergency kit but with the mass of kit the average archer has to carry i suspect this is the first thing left out. I suspect most people rely on event organisers to supply this king of stuff

The first aid kit I carry in my kit is in a box that measures 5"x3" and 1" deep. It originaly cost 99p from Wilko's (we all have room and budget for one surley ?) Ive added a few bits and bobs its still quite basic but theres enough to do the job.Oh and Im also a qualified first aider

No kit as such, but I always carry plasters with me. I guess I won't have a knife anymore now it's been confiscated.

I've got plasters in my arrow box and there's a first aid kit in my car. But I do try quite hard not to stab myself with my knife!!

Yes, our club has an on-site first aid kit with at least 2 first aiders present at all times especially at Have A go events. Committee members carry large first aid kits in their cars and most of the time we have a member who is a paramedic/first responder around when we shoot. He carries a de-fib and oxygen cylinder in his car at all times. We have appprox. 10 first aiders in the club out of a membership of close to 50 so hopefully (as much by accident as design) we are covered for most eventualities. Now if only we could find a shooting member who could donate a helicopter. Hmmm.

When I did my first aid for work (the full 5 day course one) we were all given a small pouch about 3" x2" x 1/2" that fitted on ones trouser belt or in a pocket. It contained a field bandage and dressing, 4 plasters (the blue ones cause I worked in a food factory), a pair of disposable gloves, one of those mouth to mouth guards, a pack of steristrips and a packet of glucose for diabetics. Everything you really need in an emergency in the tinyest package.
I carried it for 3 years (and used regularly) as a first-aider until I changed jobs. Now it sits in the bottom of my archery case, just incase.
