It's perfectly possible to have a sense of community with people on the other side of the planet as well as those in the UK. That's one of the great things about the digital age.
You're quite right! The poll actually started with me reading clicki's thread & in writing the poll I swapped from a one-vote to a multi-choice & lost a little of the plot with regard to asking unbiased questions.

My experience of archery has always been that there a community there that you join as a matter of course, just by picking up a bow. That extends from the club members to the random archer from elsewhere who happens to be on your taget at a competition. That, of course, includes essentially any of the fora mentioned, or omitted in the poll specification.

If I'm trying to find something out then the top three are where I'd look, starting here. Browsing pretty much here exclusively. I do check the others out if i've got time to kill, but am rarely 'active'!

I come here most often, since it still seems to be in the beginning stages when the forum is still "fun" to chat on. AT.com is run by a few dictator rednecks who like to make the place as difficult as possible to enjoy. Saggi is good from time to time but the signal:noise ratio has become less desirable over the past few months with the coming of certain individuals. AF.com still has a lot of great people but the community is getting too large to have the same slinging matches we used to without offending someone. Haven't been to any others...

I know the individual you're talking about

Speaking as a long-time Saggi user, people like that have come and gone. After making prats of themselves a few times and getting slapped down they usually disappear.

I mainly go to the top three, although I do go to AT once every blue moon.
AIUK is young, lively and very and friendly. I agree with Morphymick, Vittorio’s contributions on Saggi are well worth the visit. But I do find it irritating that a few members feel it necessary to post on every single thread.
I love AF for the humour that shows up in many of the threads.

PS - anybody remember Dr Nuff.

That's good news! Did you finally get the dogs out to run him off?
I agree that the humour on AF.com makes it worth the visit... but tracking it down can sometimes be difficult...
