| Do I practise in the rain? No. There is no point getting my gear wet for no need. Shooting in the rain is the same as shooting in nice weather, just aim at the 10 and shoot. Do I compete in the rain? Yes. If it's a competition and it's raining I shoot. No complaining.

| I have trained in the rain on several occasions. I'll admit that I usually don't but, as the question says, if the need arises, I will. Something like "I NEED to shoot!" is good enough, as is training in the rain to get used to it for the coming weekend (if I know it will be raining). But I certainly don't like having to dry things out when I get home. Water in the limb pockets, water between the riser and grip, water under the sight block... not very nice! |

| Yes it can be unpleasant. But it''s like practicing in the wind. When the time comes to compete you are familiar with the conditions, so you have an edge. Have you never heard other archers blame their poor scores on the rain? They're the ones who don't practice in it!

| Yep we practice in the wet. We get our groundsman to turn the sprinkler on so we can practice in any thing from a light drizzle to a bucketing downpour. This allows us to be proficient in keeping our cake dry to efficiently being able to dry our equipment out afterwards. Of course the hose pipe ban has now put paid to that so we will now have to take it in turns to throw buckets of water over each other as that apparently is allowed ![]() |

| It's useful to practice in the rain, as you can check out clearance etc. of clothes. I've seen people at competitions put on really thick waterproofs and layers, and then wonder why they're scoring has suddenly gone down! A trial run whilst training would sort this out! As for practicing in the rain, it depends how much I want to shoot at that time. I've had people sitting in the car watching me shoot during a hail storm before, because I wanted so badly to shoot.... |

| Rained on saturday. Snowed yesterday. With the exception of the colleague who shot with me(I gave him a lift in the car) no other club member turned up. There should have been the beginers group and coaches but? Or is it just me? |

| I don't look out the window see its raining and rush out, but If I planned to shoot it wont stop me, I just sit in the car if it gets heavy ![]()

| Considering it's a good 25 min drive to the field, if it's raining when I get there I will shoot regardless. Not sure I would set off in the rain though. I shot in wind and rain on Sunday. It was Fab! really enjoyed being outside. I have even considered doing a bit of field shooting next winter if that's possibe. I really don't get on with indoor shooting. Shooting is shooting, wind or rain. Rain will just give lower sight marks, wind is just wind, something we need to get used to and accept as part of the game. |
