How often do you change your cables?

I have had my Old Glory for 9 months now and was wondering if I ought to change my cables before the outdoor season gets serious.

I voted for option three. It will depend on how much you shoot your bow. I suspect once a year may be about right for me. But I do try and look after the string and keep it waxed etc. I get the impression some bows are kinder to bow strings more than others may be. No way would I shoot a bow that I suspect is dodgy. Safety is my main concern with compound bows.

Don't bother, get it done at the start of the indoor season. Unless there are actually strands coming off the cables/string it's not serious, and a bit of fuzz can easily be cured with some wax.

I've never found out the answer to when should I change the strings etc.
Modern materials are very strong. What I would say is about warning signs.
If a serving has a spiral twist showing through from inside, there is usually a strand or two broken in there. Another ominous sign is when sight marks go silly while you are shooting or even when you start at the beginning of a
session. If it's not your sight coming loose and it's not the rest or peep or the nocking point, then it could be a string or cable. The wheels can show as out of time or the bracing height may have suddenly changed. These things are warning signs even when the string looks perfect.

Easy answer to this one: New bow every season!

I'm on my second hoyt now and am eyeing up either a Matthews switchback or bowtech tribute for next season. As for the replacement cables issue, thats down to the new owner!
