| I am a 'pretend' serious archer!! I want to be good and want to train regular and want to spend time with my coach.....in reality, I train when I can and make excuses when I can't. I tell myself it will be different next year once I have finished at uni and can work a 'normal' week. ![]()

| Initially I checked all boxes apart from 'compete against others..', but in truth I guess that comes in too. I'm not out to better anyone but myself , but as another gauge of improvement a club record along the way is a nice marker...

| I take my Archery - in all its aspects - very seriously. I shred myself when my shooting is mostly giving me negatives, but I can generally find the positives in any performance I give. I have not improved for many years, chiefly because I am (I think) scared that if I tried properly I would fail. I am also serious in wanting to help other get the most out of their archery - can that make me a "serious" archer? And I have know archers who can achieve very high scores who i would say are not "serious" archers, but have nothing else in their life to get in the way.

| I shoot in permanent hope of getting better: if that means 'competing' against others in the club or at a competition, fine. When I'm not getting better (most of the time!) I shoot for fun. I think it might be called addiction..... ![]()

Am I serious about archery? Absolutely. I am also in deadly earnest about hamsters, flatpack furniture and underwater clog dancing. C'mon - be honest. It really was a silly question, wasn't it?

| I am looking for archery perfection. That is being able to execute perfectly everytime while holding perfectly still and drilling that same hole in the target. Being 'fun' isn't a part of it, I enjoy chasing this goal, but it's not 'fun'. It's frustrating and difficult. I compete because it adds difficulty to my goal and lets me catch up with friends. Imay never reach my goal, but that's OK, I have the rest of my life to get it right.
