Are you a "serious" archer?

I only ticked "for fun" because at the moment I'm not good enough to compete against myself or anyone else. I'm just working on form and technique. As for "life, the universe and everything", I WANT archery to be a part for that, not to get away from it!

But it doesn't feel like a contest at the moment and I don't want the stress of that either. There will come a day when I will compete with myself to improve PBs, etc. Until that day, I'm just having fun.

If you speak to my mates I "never take anything seriously" But life's too short eh?.

I do archery to compete against myself really...bettering scores getting sweeter shoots etc.
Same as trackdays (on motorcycles) I do them to better my lines and get quicker.

I may eventually compete at more than just internal club shoots.....I may also one day compete on a motorcycle......if i can take myself seriously for longer than five minutes

I shoot for fun, to get away from everything, to compete against others and against myself.

I am serious about archery, but I don't take myself too seriously (if that makes sense?) I'm not allowed to take myself too seriously at the club, they tease me mercilessly But I like it!!

I compete at a high level, but I'm not necessarily at that level, if you know what I mean? Sometimes I'm the bottom of the pile, but I prefer to shoot big competitions where I can stretch myself rather than the small local comps where I might be one of three ladies, and be shooting 4 or 6 dozen..

Ever since I started competitions I've done enough rounds for National Rankings, which apparently (according to some) is enough to make me "serious" but if I can have a PB for a round, a handicap for a season then why shouldn't I measure myself against other people and aim for a PB ranking?
