Question What is your indoor venue?

We are currently using our local leisure as an indoor venue but what started as a reasonable prices have gone up and up so it got me thinking what other venues do clubs use and how many use that type of indoor venue?

We are very fortunate at Bronte Archers. A hall (approx 6 bosses wide) that we can get about up to 15 metres distance available two/three nights each week. Plus an upstairs range (20 yds), two bosses wide that we have 24/7 access to.

It's taken a lot of work from the members to acheive this and a very supportive local council.

Our new clubhouse is being built, roof on , windows going in. It has taken a long time to get the money, but should be ready for sept/oct 2006.

our school hall is just big enough for the stands back legs to be against one wall and about 1.5yds behind the shooting line @ 20yds.

Apparently it is possible to shoot a FITA25 diagonally across the hall..

we pay £40 per night for this...set to £4 per head..sometimes we break even.

I'm going to look into renting out part of a storage warehouse for shooting in during the winter months. Surely there will be someone who has a bit of space to set up a boss or two. It could work!

I guess some are lucky: seeing the posts above..

We have our own clubhouse, an old school gym. The original "gym" has a permanent straw backwall, 18 meter FITA distance, that wil accomodate 12 archers at the same time. Where the showers and changing rooms used to be are now our own "pub" with semi-small kitchen (if you want a beer and a snack, no problem), and a seperate space to store and build up bows.
During the winter season it's officialy open on mo-thur-fri- night and sunday afternoon. In the summer, when our outdoor range is open (Bosses up to 90 meters), it's down to two evenings.

For all this luxury we pay € 164 (about 115 GBP) a year (That's for an adult, insurance and NHB -our national arch. organisation- fee included)

Peter

Our club has it's own club rooms with 18m indoor range. We can have 18 shooters up at once or 36 if we do A's and B's.
It's open 24hr a day for members.
We have outgrown it and are looking at expanding. Hopefully into a new club rooms that allows us to slowly extend to a 50-70m indoor range
