I use, and therefore voted for, Quicks.

They are my local shop, as far as I'm aware, and as such have been the only place I've actually bought stuff from.

They have also agreed to spend a while helping me test and choose my new bow, very nice of them, good on the phone, friendly in person, answered my email quickly.

They may well be a bit pricier, but hey, the service I've experienced so far was great.

Fair comment and I am not disputing the statement and sure that if ASW was happy to explain he would do so, I was just interested and looking for some more meat on the bone. for example is this just internet/mail order business or gross turnover.

Don't forget Marcus'e shop in Aus (Urban Archery). I have ordered things from them and they have been delivered faster than many of the shops on the list.

my last purchases have been from Perris. and thus I voted for them. the staff are lovely (the whole family has bought nearly all our kit from them) and Suzanne makes a good cup of tea!
Alternative are reliable, not always the cheapest tho.
Tried to order G3s from Bowsports but waited about 2 months so went to Lancaster instead.
The nearest shop is now quicks hampton court, but due to having no car, i mostly buy on line, over the phone, or at shoots.

more shops not on the poll: Stylist and Linecutter Archery (new Essex based, and run by two mates who i get much advice from)

Oh dear. We've just had a beginner come back from a trip to Quicks. They sold him £1300 worth of kit, which may be incorrect for him... The only reason they didn't sell him ACEs as well, was because they didn't have 'his size' in stock. Though judging from the shafts they did sell him, I'd question their ability to determine 'his size'!

Now, granted, there must be a great temptation to just sell the pants off the ignorant when they come fall into your lap, even so, I'd expect some standards from a major retailer...

That is a lot of money. I hope his kit is really what he needs. And more arrows to come!

That is just plain irresponsible of them. I assume said beginner didn't go in asking to buy high-end kit? I've met a few who've done that (and they've never lasted more than a year in the sport).
