Quicks / Alternative Sporting Services

As far as location I would use Quicks as I am ½ hour away from their Hampton Court store.

I have used Alternative Sporting Services many times from their website and from experience no problems when ordering small packages.

As regard to Japanese shops it just shows how ignorant some people are if you think Sumo are common or even people who wear Kimono, Yukata or Jimbeys are representative of a nation. Whereas the average Brit is definitly overweight including me. If you were to make a real generalisation it would be a man with a side parting, a grey suit with bloodshot eyes after sleeping 3-4 hours a night, but on the plus side the shops would be open 16 hours a day and would also probably sell beer.
After suggesting people lacked a sense of humour, you have shown a destinct lean in that direction yourself.

If it makes you feel better, I was joking, not generalising and as a student of the Martial Arts for over 20 years I do know that Sumo are trained athletes.

Back peddling over, I'm outta here

Since I started shooting again I have used Centre Shot exclusively - they are the nearest to me, only 25 miles, but more importantly they are helpful, friendly and their prices are comparable to others - even mail order.

I like to shop at W.A.S as they are very friendly and helpful. On Tuesday I was in there for over 7 hours getting a new bow, and they got it set up how I wanted it. I phoned up today about my sight extension being too short, and they have aid that I can do a straight swap for a longer extension.

I personally have had a great experience with Alternative at the moment with them replacing a faulty chest guard within 2 days of contacting them via email.

P.S. I'm still waiting patiently for it to arrive though, been 4 days now.

To be fair to those other shops, with Alt. Services operating only online, they can keep their costs lower (less staff, no showroom etc) and they can focus purely with online orders.

Many others also provide advice and the ability to try before you buy, which given the cost of equipment these days is a good thing. This takes time, patience and a little more outlay on the shops side.......I would hate to think the quality of a shop was based purely of volume of sales.
