We don't alwys shoot together, but it gives us something to share.

I agree with you there Marcus, its nice for hubby and I to finally have a hobby we can share together.

When I posted the poll originally what I meant was do you shoot alone i.e. not with your own partner/children/family as opposed to on your own with no other club members!! I cant drive (thats another story though) so hubby has to come with me to archery - lucky we both love it so much!

Much prefer to shoot with good company, and I am fortunate to shoot with Numpty/Robbo/Mrs Robbo fairly frequently, and others from time to time.

Whilst actually shooting I try to empty my thoughts of Cake related stuff- but this requires discipline and practise, as does so much of this wonderful sport.

generally i get a mixture of shooting alone or with the club at weekends
a few years ago it would have been too tempting to shoot the ex
but thats passed now, my daughter comes along every other weekend and on those occasions i tend not to shoot as much/well as normal but i do enjoy having her there

On the odd occasion that I shoot without Mrs P I feel as though I've forgotten some really important piece of kit.
We're just so used to being out in the woods together that when of us isn't there it just don't feel right.

That is really lovely, provins!

Most of you seem to have a spouse/partner/children you shoot with, while some of us have none of that. Hence why I like shooting with others. But when I'm on the line concentrating, I am alone, so it's nice to have others there when you come off the line. Not to mention having others who can watch your form, share information with, and/or learn something from.

depends on what im shooting for.
i voted for alone but i love club days and the banter that goes with them but i must admit my fondest shooting times are on a practice range in the evening at a 2 day weekend shoot.

have the range pretty much to yourself and can just relax and shoot the world by, sometimes with a crafty beer. even then you bump into people though and can have a good laugh or just a chat.

tis the best

I would love to shoot on my own sometimes but unfortunately field rules are field rules.

Our club meets on Sunday afternoon, I try to get every week and really enjoy the company and the crack. I however voted alone. I have been given the use of a disused walled garden to practice in (How lucky am I) the feeling I get when I prepared to shoot with others is exactly the same as how I feel when I am alone.

I like a bit of both, as our club owns our own field its quite common for someone to be the only archer at the field excluding club days. I find it nice sometimes just to get away from everything, put some relaxing music on, and shoot away. No distractions, you can shoot at your own pace, play away with the gear, and wonder up and down the field at your own rate.

But then other times, its great to have the company of fellow archers, to chat about experiences, different equipment, and just general chit chat.

So I like both, alone and with others.

much prefer shooting with a group of friends although i have shot by myself quite a bit. The only trouble with shooting by yourself is having the self discipline to take your time, i normally find i shoot too quick and tire very quickly, especially when doing 6 at a time.
