Archery - Alone or Together?

Hi Guys

Ive just been wondering about this. Although Ive only been interested in archery a very short time its become evident that its going to be a great hobby for me and my hubby to do together as we both just have so much fun and are really passionate about the sport.

I hear a lot of joking about archery being the only way to "get away from the wife/hubby/kids" or whatever and I just wondered how many of us shoot with our partners and/or children and how many of us shoot on our own.

If you dont mind voting and giving your opinion Im sure it would make interesting, and amusing, reading!

Myself, husband and son are all archers. Very definitely a family activity. Have to remember to do and talk about other things sometimes, archery can take over our lives. Calum and I have recently started indoor climbing, so for our birthdays this year we bought harnesses shoes etc, was actually quite weird not to get any archery stuff.

Glad you're having so much fun!

I'll usually try and make club nights on a Tuesday when we shoot in a group. But I've just started going down to the field between 5am and 6am on a Saturday morning (the only other time I'm 'allowed out') where it's quite pleasant to just shoot a round in silence

I would happily shoot on my own, but field rules dictate that there needs to be two people on the field when shooting is taking place....

roll on the day when I have a garden....or a huge lottery win and a field..

On my wedding day I decided to get back into archery again with my new wife. We met at archery and had not shot in a while.
It was a great way for us to spend time together. Honestly we have now fought more
over archery issues than anything else.
We don't alwys shoot together, but it gives us something to share.
Helping to achieve her dream of shooting at the world target also had made it worthwhile.

And you hear exactly the same remark at the sailing club, the golf club, etc, etc.

It's the sort of comment that people make; I don't suppose half of them mean it, it's just something to say, usually when they can't think of anything more interesting!

When I'm working intensely on something, it's often nice to just get away and focus on my own, but generally I like to shoot in a group. Being married to an archer means we're often shooting together/talking archery together.

I really have no preference, I just like to shoot, with company's better in between ends, but aside from then I never see a difference.
