| In competition - when I get cold to the point of potential injury (only stopped because of this twice, in 6 years). In practice - when I get to the point where I'm at risk of shooting with poor form due to the cold or wind, or at risk of injury.

| IIRC, at a competition with lightning, the shooting will be stopped until the lightning is finished, then the shooting will recommence. I think that is what happens, as I heard it from someone. Personally, I shoot in any weather while practicing so that I am used to the weather in competitions. Chris

| If the wind gets too strong or there is light rain I'll shoot at the field course. If there is heavy rain, there won't be any shooting at the target club, but I might still shoot at the field course if it looks like it might stop. |

| I draw no line. But they do make me stop for lightning.

| We have no indoor facilities over the outdoor season, so if in need of practice for a comp have to just grit teeth and do it, whatever the weather. If I get cold I have to stop or I hurt, which is why I have loads of base layers (vests!!) and if weather not nice, wear 5 layers, occasionaly 6. Can sometimes took twice my real size! Earlier in the season, shot a doz arrows on first day of Eastern Area Champs, then packed up. My hand was so cold I felt I couldn't uncurl the fingers to let go of the string, ouch. Couldn't go home as our club was running the comp, but at least was able to sip peppermint tea throughout the day, and cook the BBQ!!!! Next day wore even more layers, managed to put in second best score of the season. |

| If I've made the effort to travel the 13 miles to the ground, set up, and start shooting, I shall finsih what I'm doing. One of the most poetic moments I have seen was when shooting a clout with the sky to the north black with thunder clouds, but bright sunshine to the south. Being able to see the sunlight glint off the arrows against the background of forked lightning was awesome. No one stopped then!
