| I shoot 41lbs on the fingers. I can pull more and hold more quite easily but dont feel fully relaxed and my scores suffer. On a calm day this weight is quite adequate (I use Ace's) but in the wind good archers pulling more have a definite advantage.(Thats why Grant beat me at Bronte!!, that and the X10's!!!) One thing I am certain of is that it is better to shoot a weight that you are comfortable and relaxed with rather than trying to shoot more. Remember, the last arrow is just as important as the first, infact in some ways (in a FITA or York) it's more important to feel comfortable for the last few dozen because the target is nearer and the gold is easier providing you're shooting well. |

| As it stands 36lb seems to be (marginally) most popular - any problems with the longer distances at this poundage?

Both my bows are 38lb, 37lb on the fingers and I have no probs reaching 100yd, 165yd on the archery golf, right to the heart of the green. Hitting the gold is another thing altogether. Mick

| I'd have problems getting distance with 36lbs, but then I have to shoot a 32" arrow, which is a lot of arrow to get to the target. I reckon I'm on about 42-43lb now, which is much, much easier now my bow shoulder is well positioned. |

| I'm shooting 36 on the fingers but my release has improved sine last year so I may wait 'till we get back out dooors to see whether I can now comfortably reach 100 yards. If not I may go for heavier limbs. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Hmmm. Looking at the graph of results, it looks like it might approximate to a normal curve, peaking around 36/38lbs.... I don't suppose that's really surprising, though the peak sounds a little on the low side. |
