40# limbs, 43# on fingers. 27 1/4" Navigators and a 16 strand fastflight string enables me to score well at 100 yards. It is not a matter of reaching 100 yards, but scoring effectively.

Wise words. So many people go for the power but its better to be able to shoot well. One guy here regularly shot 300 plus at 90m with 38 pounds and X7s. With todays limbs and arrows the trade off is far far in advantage of controlling your shot properly compared to pulling a beast that you can tame but not master.

Measured my draw wgt last week came in at 36lb on the fingers
thats with 36lb Hoyt Kinetic Limbs, Helix Riser wound up and a draw length of 26.5" ( i got short arms because i`m more evolved my knuckles don`t drag the floor)
so what i lost on lb in draw length i gained in the wind up
on this set up with a 16 strand ff string and acc arrows i was struggling to get on the target at 100yrds 6 arrows between the legs mostly, soo went and asked for a 14 strand ff string and boom on the target fortunately i wont need to shoot 110yrds or i`d be back at drawing board again
although i have just changed string again now have a 16 strand angel majesty dropping the bracing to 8 3/4" from 9 1/4" with the ff and this has increased the sight mark a little at 100yrds and a lot at 80yrds

I use a training bow at the mo that's 26lbs @ 28 but I draw 29", so juice 28lb from it.

I need to get my form right as I'm convinced it's completely wrong.

I shoot 42lbs from the fingers , but i upped it slowly over 4 yrs to get the distances but then with new bits and pieces you dont heavy bows but I am trying not to tinker too much with my bow for a whole year(which is really hard due to my that looks nice, or what a good idea lets put on my bow)and let myself settle but im a born tinkerer

Conversely, a bow that is too weak can feel so easy that technique also goes out of the window (why bother with back muscles when you can draw the string with your little finger?).
The answer is to strike the balance, to find what feels best for the archer. Just because you can draw the weight, doesn't mean that you will be accurate over 150 arrows.
Furface you are right ....but its is about the speed i need hence i was just about to upgrade to 38 .... higher poundage shall give your arrow more speed, but only if you are comfortable with the increased poundage... else its not worth it ...
