| I'm an Easton G nock fan, used on ACC's ACE's And Navs. They are cheap, easy to replace and available anywhere. |

| I use Pin-Nocks on my ACE's as it helps protect the back of the shaft in case of an impact. They fit well on my string and they are also fairly cheap. On my X7's I decided to try some Beiter insert nocks which are very nice but obviously more money. With my setup Im not sure theres a huge advantage but they do look nice ![]() |

| What sort of an effect on arrow spine do the pin nocks have? Do they weaken the spine like extra point weight does (but on the opposite end of the arrow obviously )?Last edited by Tom; 10-10-06 at 12:08 PM.. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Using Hunter X Knocks on My FMJ's (Still Technically AC arrow) I have already destroyed one shaft when I impacted the knock with another arrow looks like the knock has torn through the side of the shaft (not bad for 70M in the wind) if this becomes a regular occurrence may see if I can fit Pin Knocks to them.

| Tom - have a search on sagi for various opinions on pin nocks. Personally I think they're a bad idea. Long in/outs work well for me in terms of protecting the back of the shaft. I used to have problems with the insert bit parting company with the rest of it, but that seems to have gone away. I tried short in/outs but got significantly more back-end impact arrow damage. A lot of people swear by G-nocks, but I've been shooting Beiter's so long I can't remember if they were good or not! ![]() The other question is nock points - if you go beiter nocks, you don't HAVE to go beiter nock points, but it does make a lot of sense to do so. They're fiddly to serve, and do break on occasion, but I love the consistent "snap" when the nock/point fit nicely together. Contrary to popular belief, Beiter nock points can be moved fairly easily for tuning purposes.

| Beiter inserts in my Navigators. They're far more consistent than G-Nocks, with or without the Beiter nocking points (which I don't use -- too fiddly). I'm using pin nocks on some old A/C/Cs that I'm flinging from my compound. The pins are tough -- several of them have survived back-enders -- but the nocks aren't as consistent as Beiter nocks. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I have gone back to G nocks as I was fed up with having to replace pin nocks, they seem quite fragile and split very easily at the bottom of the grove. |

Extra weight at the back of the arrow stiffens the spine, I suppose it depends on how good the archer is to notice the effects of 3 grains compared to G nocks. |

| Been using Beiter nocks since I got my ACC's. Have considered trying different nocks (because of cost) but never seem to get around to doing so.
